MARK J. METZGER was born in Kew Gardens, Queens, New York, and has resided in Dutchess County, New York for approximately thirty-five years. Mr. Metzger is a distinguished trial attorney admitted to practice in New York State with nearly thirty-five years experience in the Hudson Valley, as well as, New York. Mr. Metzger received his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Albany with a double major in Mathematics and Sociology. He went on to receive his Masters Degree in Education from The College of St. Rose and his law degree from Pace University School of Law in White Plains.
Mr. Metzger has set several jury verdict records in the Hudson Valley. He has successfully settled, as well as taken to trial, numerous complex personal injury and medical malpractice cases resulting in million dollar awards. A highly-experienced personal injury lawyer, Mr. Metzger has held, and participated in, professional lectures for other attorneys on personal injury and good trial practice. In addition to law practice, Mr. Metzger is the recipient of many community service, board service and leadership awards, particularly in support of children and adults with developmental disabilities. His volunteerism has been memorialized by the Maplebrook School with the Mark J. Metzger Citizenship Award, given annually.
Currently, Mr. Metzger serves as Board Chairman of the Maplebrook School in Amenia, New York, a private day and boarding school for children with learning differences. He has served on the Maplebrook School Board of Directors for approximately twenty-eight years. He is also a long-time Board Member of the Dutchess ARC, as well as the agency's Treasurer, and a Vice-President and Founder of the Dutchess ARC Foundation. Mr. Metzger is a member of the New York State Surrogate Decision-Making Committee and member of the Board of Governors of NYSARC, Inc. He is a former Member of the 9th Judicial District Grievance Committee, a past President and past Board Member of the Arlington Central School District and Founder of the Arlington Education Foundation. Mr. Metzger is a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers, New York State Bar Association and the Dutchess County Bar Association.

KATHLEEN METZGER was born in Pensacola, Florida, and has resided in New York's Hudson Valley for approximately twenty-six years. Ms. Metzger graduated cum laude from Marist College, a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies, concentrating in Philosophy and Public Praxis (applied Philosophy through community service). She received her law degree from Albany Law School and was a Co-Chair of the Albany Law School Environmental Law Society. As an intern with the Albany County District Attorney's Office, under special admission privileges, Ms. Metzger was the only member of her law school clinic to win at trial. Following admission to the New York bar, she was appointed and served as a Special Prosecutor in Dutchess County for several years, and went on to represent criminal defendants and other individuals in solo practice. Ms. Metzger is an experienced trial and appellate attorney, fluent in Spanish. She has successfully tried cases in the Family Court and local criminal courts, settled matrimonials, handled real estate closings, assisted in DWI defense and provided per diem court appearances for other attorneys. She has worked of counsel to other Hudson Valley law firms handling civil, criminal and administrative appeals, among which she has, pro bono, successfully sought reversal of determinations against disabled individuals.
In 2012, Ms. Metzger helped found Metzger Injury Law, a personal injury firm handling complex accident, injury and medical malpractice cases throughout the Hudson Valley and New York. She brings to the firm great versatility, a commitment to excellence, and a caring approach with clients.
Ms. Metzger is a member of the Board of Directors of Grace Smith House, a domestic violence shelter and advocacy organization in Poughkeepsie, and chairs the agency's Public Relations Committee. Additionally, she is a member of the Board of Directors of Vassar-Warner Home, a senior residence and assisted living agency, also in Poughkeepsie, and is past Chair of the home's Board Development Committee. She is a past Board Member of MHA of Dutchess County, a mental health services and advocacy organization, and past member of the Dutchess ARC Foundation Events Committee. Ms. Metzger is a member of the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers, and the New York State and Dutchess County bar associations.
